Giving Back 2021: An Update on Our Charitable Giving

1% for the Planet Charitable Donations
At the end of every year, I have the enormous honor of making our year-end donations via our 1% for the Planet pledge.

This year, with the help of our amazing customers, it has given me great pleasure to donate to the following charities through both monetary and in-kind donations:

Our largest donation this year was via sales of our Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet and it went to one of my absolute favorite charities, Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP). BCPP is the leading science-based advocacy organization working to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease.

Through our collaborations with West Elm, we have been thrilled, year after year, to donate monetary donations, as well as in-kind jewelry donations, in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude leads the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancers. And, as the majority of St. Jude's funding comes from individual contributions, families seeking treatment never have to pay for it.

Underserved youth is another issue near and dear to my heart. This year my husband and I have also had the pleasure of supporting two amazing local organizations: Sierra Club Inspiring Connections Outdoors, Sacramento Chapter (Sacramento ICO), and Aging Up Youth Mentoring Program.

Sacramento ICO provides opportunities to underserved youth in nature and the outdoors. Their goal is to promote appreciation and protection of the natural environment through wilderness adventures and environmental education.

Aging Up Youth Mentoring Program empowers youth with experience in foster care to successfully transition into adulthood through one-to-one mentoring, meet-ups and group outings, life skills education, and college/career preparation.

I'll continue to share more over on Instagram throughout 2022. Please come join us over there too!
